I hardly ever write reviews but I always have the absolute best service when I come here. The food is good, particularly the apps & desserts. The atmosphere is cozy & fun. Every single person who works there is so kind and their servers do such a wonderful job. I’ve been here with family, friends & for date nights and the vibes are always immaculate. Most recently had Brenda as our server and she was so lovely. The hospitality industry has been so tough since 2020 and it’s the folks who work in it who keep us coming back. Definitely recommend this spot. Go & tip your servers and bartenders!!
They routinely nail it. Waitstaff is nice to everyone - and nice to kids. Food: solid, and varied. Steak tips, broccolini, crab cakes, bolognese pappardelle, brownie sundae - everything tasty. We first came in the way back of 2007 I think around when they opened - and we keep coming.
This was everything we were looking for and more! It’s been on my son‘s list to try, so glad we finally made it. We started with the Ricotta Mozzarella Fritters, warm gooey deliciousness. Our entrees were the Veggie Jambalaya and the Blackened Catfish Po’Boy. Both were absolutely scrumptious. Great cocktail and beer selection. Everything about our evening was wonderful from start to finish. Excellent food, service and a very welcoming neighborhood vibe. Highland kitchen will definitely be added into our rotation of favorites.
I love the fried chicken sandwich. Tasty, crunchy, and moist, not dried out. The combination of ranch dressing and pickles is very tasty. Fries were excellent too! Good value as well. This could become a favorite item for me.
*Very* well located, as the neighborhood is a little lacking for sit-down restaurants. Vibe is great, cocktails are inventive (and good), and they rock a slightly southern menu, which is a nice departure. I wouldnt say its haute cuisine, but definitely better than average bar food. The place is always hopping. Yes! Go!
It's a cozy place. We went on Friday and it was pretty loud. We got roasted chicken and goat stew. Both were pretty good. No real complaints. It's like Southern comfort food. We also got the bread pudding. The bread pudding was delicious. Giving it four stars for service because they didn't refill our water :(.
Coming late Sunday night to get together with friends, we found this place a great place with amazing burger and sandwiches. Should try!
Have been to Highland Kitchen several times and always have a great time. Food: 10/10 - Food has always been great with some creative dishes. Drinks: 8/10 - Cocktails have been good. Usually a nice beer selection. Service: 10/10 Atmosphere: 10/10
Fantastic American fare with equally excellent staff that makes you feel like it could be your "Cheers" place. I had the Coconut Curry Lamb Stew which was served with a good selection of small batch hot sauces. I haven't had a dish like that anywhere else. Very memorable. Great atmosphere, diverse crowd, a little noisy but not too loud. Will definitely be going back.
For what it is, this place is pretty exceptional. As a restaurant/dive bar thing, the food, community, and service was incredible. The buffalo brussel sprouts and the sandwiches were exceptional. Server was super kind, quick, and helpful. Pricing was fair and the wait wasn't bad. As a walkable, neighborhood restaurant, it doesn't get much better than this.
